Art & Reality

You’ve probably seen me talking about accessibility vs. artistic integrity. These are two aspects that every artist must consider whenever embarking on an artistic endeavor. The idea comes down to this: how much artistic integrity are you willing to sacrifice to make the artwork accessible to a large enough audience that you can make a decent living and continue to make art?
The great thing about creating art in the form of an app is that it can be easily accessed by billions of people through the App and Play Store. The downside is that without spending lots of money on advertising, no one will ever know about the app.
This is a constant battle. We want minutiae to be accessible to basically everyone with a smartphone and a bit of curiosity. But to make it accessible to everyone, it needs to be free. Of course, we need to make money so that people can find out about the project (run Ads) while also sustaining and developing the project.
The solution: Introducing a new free tier and a new book option.
The free tier is a sort of light version of the project that we hope will help make the project more accessible to a wider audience.
The 360 Edition - One Year Book contains all of the moments captured over the course of a year (or 360 moments, to be exact). The book is in chronological order and does not include the missed moments.
We also offer a monthly and annual subscription with added features such as a four-minute grace period, monthly progress report, and discounts on the book. The standard edition book is still available at the end of the full 1440-day cycle (or four years, to be exact)
We think that these new additions will strike a healthy balance between accessibility while maintaining the artistic integrity of the project. This will allow us to continue developing minutiae (more on that later) without compromising too much on the original concept of honest, long-term documentation.
So, all this to say, when you buy the 360 Edition, you not only get a really nice book but also help us to continue to develop the project and bring all the new ideas to life.
